In honor of this day, I picked up some pan de muerto (bread of the dead) at the local Mexican market and made traditional Mexican hot chocolate. Scrumptious. I remember making paper mache skulls and paper decorations as a kid but haven't done that in a while. We always forgo-ed the private alter honoring the dead but my mom always made sure to buy pan de muerto and make hot chocolate.
