summer has arrived

...and we finally get to enjoy it with the great weather. i love the rain but its nice to have cloudless skies and high temperatures again. this summer jalaine and i bought passes to seven peaks water park, i've been several times this year and its heavenly. there's no better way to enjoy summer than out in the sun and at the pool. i just love water parks...the big slides are my favorite. they have this crazy looking slide called boomerang, i'm usually not a whimp when it comes to rides but this slide is scary and i don't know how eric convinced me to get on it. it was fun but i felt like we were going to fall out. i can't believe some of the kids that go on it, i saw one girl that looked like she was 6 and went on it by herself, i figured if she could do it, i could. maybe, just maybe, i'll get on it again.

joel mchale

friday night eric and i went to abravanel hall to see joel mchale. he is a comedian and has his own show on the E network called the soup. he makes fun of all the reality shows/stars and is hilarious...i just love him! we contemplated buying one of his shirts so he could sign it but didn't want to wait in the long line...i decided to get a picture of him signing someones shirt instead. he did a lot of bits from the soup, but also had plenty of other material...mostly his family. i'd love to see him again.
it was the first time i'd been to abravanel hall...its such a cool place, awesome woodwork, chandeliers hanging that look like jewlery, and a beautiful glass work masterpiece right in the lobby.

pete & betta max

Two new additions to our family:

Pete and Betta Max, a.k.a African Dwarf Frog and a Betta. We thought of several names for them, like "hi little fish" so we could always say "hi little fish" when we talked to them...but we like Petey and Betta Max better (thanks Christina for helping us name Pete).

Rocks in one hand and Petey in the other. Eric and I were so excited to finally have 2 cute little buddies to hang out with...we would talk to them everyday! Pete and Max got along so well too, they would kiss, cuddle and always hang out together...sometimes they would fight and Max would flare his gills at him...but we could tell they were still the best of friends.

UNTIL...

TWO WEEKS LATER...

REST IN PEACE Betta Max!

Looks like we weren't cut out to have a fish, a BEGINNER fish at that! I am so sad we killed Max, I remember killing my goldfish as a kid and having to flush them down the toilet, but this experience was much more traumatizing. I don't think I could have another fish, we'll see, I need time to heal. Luckily, Petey is still alive and kickin' (he was our favorite anyway). I think he's lonely without Max, I'm wondering if we should get him friend...another fish?

season finale's

A lot of great shows have ended for the season, our favorite nail bitter:

I'd have to say that 24 is one of the greatest shows on television...we've been fans since we saw the very first season. I don't know how some people can say they don't like it anymore because it keeps Eric and I on the edge of our seat the entire season...we're anxiously awaiting next season!

I know, I know, The Hills...its a show about nothing and it always ends up on The Soup because Joel McHale makes fun of these prissy princesses and creepy flesh colored beard, but for some reason I love this show (I'm speaking for myself, Eric leaves the room whenever I watch it). I guess I like it because I watched it from day 1, back when Lauren and Lo were on Laguna Beach...maybe I just feel like I've grown up with these girls and we graduated the same year so I have a special...um... connection with this show. I'm sad Lauren is leaving, she's what makes it. If Kristen Cavallari takes Lauren's place, that just may be the end of The Hills for me...ok, we all know I'll still watch it but I won't be very happy...oh, and by the way, Spencer Pratt is the biggest douche on the planet!
American Idol...this was the first season Eric and I actually watched this show. It was entertaining and I'm glad Kris Allen won! Adam Lambert will still do amazing and has already made a name for himself. The best part of the season finale of American Idol, is...

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE!!!!
