park city

i love park city, its just a perfect quaint little ski town. way back in december, we had a mini family reunion with eric's immediate family in park city. his parents rented a dope cabin and his 2 sisters flew in from colorado and california to join in on the fun. we missed greg and shasta because its kinda spendy to fly down from alaska for a 4 day retreat. on our way up there we drove by bridal veil falls and saw some ice climbers, its fascinating to watch them climb up a dodgy waterfall...but props to them for being brave.

it was a perfect winter getaway, we chilled on main, hung out inside with the fam where it was warm, played cards, had some good home cooking, and ate non stop. we went sledding with natalie and her boyfriend dave. its hard to find a place to go sledding in park city without having to pay. we drove around forever and found this perfect hill of untouched snow, but it was a private golf course. after debating for a while whether we should trespass or not, we decided it was too perfect to pass up and figured we'd risk it and sled until we got kicked out. sledding wore us out and we sled for about an hour before anyone noticed we were there. doesn't look too steep but the climb sure was!

we got snowed in on the very last day, got several feet of new snow overnight. we were thinking we were going to have to stay another day (or i was hoping), but thats what snow plows and shovels are for i guess. the plows came every couple hours and we (eric) shoveled our way out. however, the ride going down parley's was way scary, saw a couple cars skid out right in front of us. hate going down that canyon in gnarly weather. after this trip, my in-laws want to make it a yearly tradition! gotta love that! i love eric's family, we had a blast. Emily, with Images by Emily, also took our family pictures so I'll post those up sometime in this lifetime.
